Muti Murders – South Africa

Posted on April 20th, 2010 by admin

August 2005
Up to 300 people are sacrificed every year in South Africa so that their body parts to be used in traditional Muti medicine. Most of these are young children, tortured to death.

“It’s done while she’s still alive because the more she screams, the more powerful the Muti’s going to be,” explains crime expert Kobus Jonker, gesturing at the picture of a mutilated six year old girl. He was the first South African to acknowledge Muti murders and has set up a special police unit to deal with it. But Muti murders are notoriously hard to prosecute. “My son will never sleep in peace,” laments Salome Chokwe. Her ten year old boy, Sello, disappeared when out herding. By the time she found him it was too late. His hands, genitals, tongue and brain had been ‘harvested’. Most practitioners use nothing more sinister than roots and leaves to make their Muti. But belief in the power of human body parts continues to fuel a demand for the ‘other’ type of Muti.

Racial tensions flare in South Africa

Posted on April 16th, 2010 by admin

Racial tensions between black farm workers and their commonly white employers have heightened in South Africa since the murder of Eugene Terreblanche – the white supremacist leader – in the country’s northwest.

Two black farm workers, who were employees of Terreblanche, have been accused of murdering him over unpaid wages.

Many white farmers say they are being targeted in “increasing racially motivated” attacks.

Meanwhile, black farm workers say they are mistreated and exploited by their white employers who are “stuck in the apartheid mentality”.

Haru Mutasa reports from Northwest Province in South Africa.

World Cup: Race relations in South Africa

Posted on April 14th, 2010 by admin

SOUTH AFRICA – With the approaching World Cup, security forces are regularly demonstrating their strength. When extreme right-wing leader Eugene TerreBlanche was assassinated last weekend, the suspects were immediately arrested. The government sent a high-ranking delegation to the scene. The police, however, cannot fix everything. Violence is also a product of verbal agitation. Provocateurs such as ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema have recently been condemned for fanning the racial fire.

Why do black people in South Africa still 13 years later screw over white people based on Apartheid?

Posted on April 14th, 2010 by admin

The present of South Africa jakob zuma sang a song about killing white people and denieing them off rights that they did not have themselves before apartheid, why is it black people are killing millions of whites every year jsut simply based on them being white and why are they dening them simple rights that they should have simply based on there skin color?

This is a Serious Question!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YT34ymDKMhQ

Emma, I would be honoured, as a citizen of the Republic Of South Africa, to answer this question for you. Firstly, all this crap I am reading, all the responses-you are all pathetic. I wish for once there would actually be some intelligent answers here, it would be so lovely if I could just for once get into a lovely debate with all you ignorant "western civilisation" people!

The song sung was re-inforced by one of our political parties youth league leader (ANC-JULIUS MALEMA) For those of you who dont know, he is probably one of the most uneducated persons in our country. http://media.photobucket.com/image/malema/jeremynell/malema.jpg. There is his report card for matric. Judging by his intelligence we can all see how amazing this man really is. The song sung by him and his pathetically large amount of followers, was MESHIMI-WA-MI, which translated, bring me my machine GUN. There are unanimous topics to slam this leader, despite his songs of oppression currently being sung by this leader, in several unions in SA. SO what exactly is this song of oppression? its called SKIET DIE BOERE-translated-SHOOT THE BOERS(FARMERS). Is it justifable that our president JZ then has a rally and promotes songs of encitement. Struggle songs?!! who is struggling?! MAlema did not even live in the APARTHEID ERA. I hate how the yanks forget about how they treated their own BLACK in their years of apartheid.( SOrry I forgot to mention that all americans are innocent, they are not racist and would never harm blacks) By the way the Germans still have alot to account for dont they??

White activists were also imprisoned during the years of apartheid, fighting for equity and unification, So do the next 10 generations of these still pay for the crimes of the apartheid leaders? What I cant understand is, Our people are being murdered, our farmers namely, and there is a count of the dead farmers by the leaders of the apartheid justice seekers. It amazes me as how the blacks of the country claim heritage land and want us white people off, yet you still see them driving fat fancy cars, living in houses that could cater for a hundred, ( basically western civilisation). But they want us out?? I wonder why Zimbabwe turned out the way it is now, cos thats what Bob wanted, no white farmers-look where that got them, now Zanu PF has nothing left and is basically crying like a baby for the whites to return.

Whites will continue to die under the ignorance of the so-called sufferers of the next generation apartheid victims, this is the ignorance we are dealing with, so If it makes all you yanks happy to see us die, clap our hands for us please. Because you are right, we should all suffer for our terrible crimes of our past, after all,we are so civilised…

What role did South Africa play in the Afghanistan conflict?

Posted on April 6th, 2010 by admin

Did they send troops? What is South Africa’s position on reestablishing freedom, security, and stability in Afghanistan?

If you mean the present one, stayed out of the whole thing. Votes in the UN maybe.

South Africa’s Nazi-inspired leader killed

Posted on April 5th, 2010 by admin

Eugene Terreblanche, the South African white supremacist leader, has been killed on his farm in the country’s northwest.

The man whose very name spoke of the apartheid era – it translates as white earth – was one of the country’s most polarising figures.

Police have confirmed they now have two young men in custody, both of whom were farm workers employed by Terreblanche.

They are suspected of bludgeoning him to death following an apparent dispute over wages.

Al Jazeera’s Azhar Sukri reports.

Is it difficult to be a vegetarian in South Africa?

Posted on April 4th, 2010 by admin

I’m planning on studying abroad soon in a small provincial town in South Africa. Does anyone have experience being there and could give me some idea about the food options? I’m worried I won’t have much vegetarian food from which to choose. My international student handbook kept mentioning all the braais (barbeques) they have!

No it is not difficult at all. South Africa is very westernised and all the usual vegetarian foods are available here including soya based "sausages" etc. Simply cook these during a "Braai"

You will be invited to functions which serve meat along with vegetables and you can simply choose the foods you want to eat. Our average dinner invitation can be amended to suit your special needs and you will find the hosts will be most accommodating.

I run a Scout Group which has a family who are vegetarian and we simply buy the foods they eat when we go camping etc

Enjoy your stay here
