Greeks are better named as Hellenes. They had other names too like Achaioi, Danaoi, Aioleis, Dorieis, Iones, Pelasgoi e.t.c.. Except collective names they had many more, Athenians , Spartans, Macedonians, Thivaioi, Thrakes, Syrracoussioi, Troians, Byzantines, Fillistians, Fryges e.t.c. The population of the known world then was much lower than now and much of it was greek and semi-greek or had greek coplonies. It is stupid to distinc Macedonians because the greatest of all men was their king.

There are also about 45,000 people who still practice it, including myself.
